The goal was to create a visual identity representing the modern and versatile nature of the organisation that would be present across all of its media, replacing the old logo-centric and undefined style.
Although an important target, children don’t specifically need to be persuaded to visit the zoo, therefore we aimed to speak to adults who otherwise would pay a visit only when accompanying children.
As a result, we created a large set of geometry-based illustrations and defined a use of photos, combined with graphic elements. Our goal was to allow enough “breathing space” in the design materials, so that they would “pop” in the general information noise in the (city) environment.
Tallinn Zoo now has a visual system that can easily be applied by their own means, including educational materials, business cards, presentations, outdoor print materials etc.
